The overall aim of passive systems is to contain the fire by: - Use of fire rated partitions and doors to prevent the fire and smoke from moving from one compartment to another. - Delaying the collapse of the building structure. - Delaying the growth of the fire.
Frontline will carry out PFS inspections with the goal of ensuring compliance of all ESM Passive items. Any non-compliant items are bought to the attention of the property manager along with recommendations towards corrective action and upkeep of maintenance schedules. Once compliance has been established Frontline will certify all PFS Items through an annual system condition report to AS 1851-2012 standards. Common PFS Items include the following components: Fire Doors, smoke walls, fire resistant walls, fire resistant glazing, fire resistant duct work, fire resistant control joints, fire resistant structural elements (beams, columns etc)
